The Society was pleased, along with the Society of Solicitor Advocates, to host a reception for Lord Mackay on 13 November, to mark his retiral as a Senator of the College of Justice.
His Lordship reminisced about his earlier life, when he had been a partner of Allan McDougall & Co, SSC, and a member of the SSC Society. At that time, John G. George, Snr., a past President of the SSC Society, had been senior partner of that firm. He referred to happy times consulting in the SSC Library, and attending social events in the Library during his time as an SSC. It was evident that the reception was much enjoyed by his Lordship, and by all those attending.
