Andrew Anderson, aged 90, the retired Senior Partner of Messrs Melrose & Porteous, Solicitors, Coldstream. He was apprenticed to Messrs James & George Collie in Aberdeen in the mid 1930s, and qualified as a Solicitor. He narrowly escaped capture at St. Valery and spent the remainder of the war as a Captain in the Royal Army Pay Corps in this country. After demobilization he looked around for suitable openings for a career in law and in 1952 he joined Messrs Melrose & Porteous. He retired in 1984 as the Senior Partner of that firm and stayed in the area. He was predeceased by his wife in 1990.
