  • Annual SSA, SSC & SYLA Lecture "
    Tuesday, 2nd December 2014 at 6pm. Joint event between the SSC Society, The SYLA and the Society of Solicitor Advocates. Sheriff Principal Mhairi Stephen will give a talk entitled "The Sheriff Court – the future" in Court 1, Parliament House. This lecture is open to all solicitors, members of faculty, trainee’s and law students. CPD points are available, provided anyone wishing to claim CPD points, signs the Sederunt Book. We should be grateful if Attendee’s can be seated by 5:55pm After the talk, supper will be served in the SSC Library, for which the charge is £15. Bookings for this event and the supper to follow (£15 per head) can be made through www.eventbrite.co.uk or for SSC Members by contacting the SSC Library. We advise that early booking is essential for both the lecture and the supper.
  • Members' Meeting
    At 5.30pm in the Members’ Lounge, followed by a speaker at 6 pm and a buffet supper at 7pm. CDP points for one hour are available. - Tuesday 2nd December 2014: Speaker Sheriff Principal Mhairi Stephen will give a talk entitled "The Sheriff Court - the future". - Tuesday 3rd March 2015 - Tuesday 30th June 2015: The Widow’s Tea Party will be held from 2.30-4pm prior to the meeting.

    Four times a year we are invited to robe and to join the procession to services at St Giles Cathedral: - On a Sunday early in May – Opening of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland - On a Sunday early in August – the Edinburgh International Festival Service - On a Tuesday toward the end of September – the Opening of the Legal Year - On the last Sunday in November or the first Sunday in December - the Festival of St Andrew
